Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Awaken is an iOS alarm clock application developed by Kuba Poprawski. This Privacy Policy describes what data the App collects, how it is used, stored, and shared, and what choices you have regarding your data.

By downloading, installing, or using Awaken, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Information Collected

2.1 Account Information

When you create an account, the following is collected:

If you sign in with Apple or Google, Awaken receives only the information those services provide (typically your name and email). Your Apple ID password, Google password, or any social media credentials are never received or stored.

2.2 Alarm and Usage Data (Stored Locally)

The following data is stored only on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework and is never transmitted to any server:

Awaken uses Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous, aggregated usage data to improve the App. This includes:

Analytics data is not linked to your identity and cannot be used to identify you personally. Analytics data is not used for advertising and is not sold to third parties.

2.4 Subscription Data

Subscription purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. No payment information (credit card numbers, billing addresses, etc.) is collected, processed, or stored by Awaken. Only confirmation from Apple's StoreKit framework that a valid subscription exists is received.

2.5 Device Sensor Data

5. Data Storage and Security

5.1 Local Storage

All alarm data, history, achievements, and preferences are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data is protected by iOS file-level encryption and your device passcode.

5.2 Keychain Storage

Sensitive data such as authentication tokens and subscription state is stored in the iOS Keychain, which provides hardware-level encryption. Certain data is synced via iCloud Keychain (with your Apple ID) to persist across device reinstalls.

6. Data Retention

Alarm data and completion history are stored on your device for as long as the App is installed. Deleting the App permanently removes all locally stored data.

Your Firebase Authentication account is retained until you explicitly delete it. You can delete your account at any time from the Settings tab within the App.

Anonymous analytics data is retained by Firebase Analytics according to Google's standard retention policies (typically 14 months).

Awaken is not directed at children under the age of 13. Personal information from children under 13 is not knowingly collected. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, please reach out via email and the information will be promptly deleted.

9. International Users

Awaken is available worldwide. Authentication data may be processed by Firebase servers located in the United States. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of authentication data to the United States. All other data remains on your device.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Significant changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
